System Updates & Development News

Please note: Updates consist of mainly just new executable files (GGSProX.exe, GSAControlPanel.exe etc)

You only need to replace the existing .exe with the new one for the update unless otherwise instructed.

12th. March. 2012

New GSA Golf system software

Driver no longer being automatically selected when ball on fairway and distance from hole greater than 300 yards.

Surface types reported back to GSA Control Panel to allow launch position to move to sand and rough positions if lie is one of these and sand and rough panels are being used.

GSA Control Panel 7.4.8.0

Rough and Sand panel positions are activated if ball lie is on rough or sand and user has grass panels for these.

Numerous smaller improvements

2nd. March. 2012

New GSA Golf system software

Field of View slider bar in the Game Options window of GSA Golf for widening the FOV for wide screen and panoramic 3 screen setups.

GSA Control Panel 7.4.7.4

Improved ball path detection accuracy when hitting on toe or heal of the club for the club tracking camera.

"No multi triggers" option improved to prevent cameras being triggered by club after ball for ball tracking cameras

and club re-tiggering club track camera on the follow though swing.

"No multi triggers" and "Parallel trace line checks" for club tracking options are now switched on automatically when first starting the control panel program.

26th. Feb. 2012

GSA Control Panel 7.4.0

Max club face angles relative to club path can now be set for a more forgiving game play. i.e. less curve in the ball flight.

Max angles can now be set to 1, 2, 5, 10 or 20 degrees open/closed. Set in the control panel's Setup window.

In previous versions, max club face angles were raw angles so that even if the club face was square the relative to club path face angle could still be open or closed

due to the club path being in-to-out or out-to-in. This can cause slices and hooks for high handicaped players.

Using these new settings will produce a more pleasant fade or draw instead of hooks and slices for novice players.

25th. Feb. 2012

GSA Control Panel 7.3.1

For Ccam users:

1. Face angle adjustments can now be assigned to individual players. i.e. player club sets.

(Add players in the Ccam camera window. Player name must correspond to the player name set and used in the GSA Golf game software)

2. Parallel line checking improved.

Parallel line checking is used to check for valid club swings.

i.e. the traces of the 2 tracking dots in the camera image should be relatively parallel. If not then another object triggered the camera and the data is not recongnized as a valid swing.

Many other smaller improvements

4th. Feb. 2012

GSA Control Panel 7.3.3

1. For stand-alone Ccam club tracking camera users:

Smash factor for ball speed and direction club-path / club-face-angle ratio can now be user-set from the setup window in the control panel.

2. For all Ccam club tracking camera users:

Face angle adjustments for irons now also for left handed players

3. Bug fix: Full after-shot analysis window opening during flight of ball

27th. January 2012

New GSA Golf system software

GSA Control Panel 7.2.6 new camera functions

Many new features in both the GSA Golf System software as well as in the new GSA Control Panel

Features include:

1. The control panel's full graphics swing analysis window can now be shown after the GSA Golf system's analysis window closes.

(The feature is optional. Switch on/off in the Control Panel)

You can also re-call the full graphics swing analysis window from the GSA Golf Game itself without having to switch back to the control panel.

2. Player names are now passed back from GSA Golf to the GSA control panel which will be used to assign club sets with varying specs and dimensions

3. Surface lie type (i.e. Sand, rough, tee box etc) is now passed back to the control panel which will allow the control panel to make modifications to the launch angle when using sand and rough panels and the tee height.

12th. January 2012

GSA Control Panel 7.2.1 new camera functions

Nearly all recent updates are for the new club tracking camera, line scan camera and ball spin cameras.

Please update your GSA Control Panel if you already have any these products.

PX5 (dual camera and club tracking sensor mat) users.

Some of the new functions are also for PX5 users.

One of the most important was to improve the camera ball recognition software which was occasionally

causing inadvertant balls to be launched in the system when players walking in the camera's FOV.

Use the new "Always allow ball to launch without club data" (i.e. switch this off) and

"Allow ball launch without club data only with SW" if you want this on when hitting from the Sand Panel.

These functions don't mean that a valid swing has to be detected over the sensor mat, just that the club passed over it somwhere during the back swing.

19th. November 2011

Camera club tracking

GSA Control Panel 6.9.2

Our camera club tracking system will be available as of next week. See the camera section to read more about this.

If you already have our PX2 sensor mat then we will be offering a $1000 refund on return if upgrading to camera ball tracking.

Please note that your PC must be fitted with an extra USB PCI board if connecting more than 1 camera.

So if you already have two cameras connected then you will require an extra USB PCI board. (Prices for these boards is usually less than $25.00 though).

The camera used is the same type as the normal ball tracking cameras so you can switch them around if you like to try the system first.

The lens must be replaced with a zoom lens that must be focused directly over the hitting mat though. Zoom in so that only the hitting mat is visible in the field of view of the camera.

You will also need to extract a trigger signal from the sensor mat. Contact for instructions on how to do this.

10th. October 2011

GSA Control Panel 6.8.5

Numerous improvements.

ProX 7.0.0

Numerous improvements.

In keeping with our philosophy of seperating the tracking and control systems from the golf game software (as with GSA Golf and E6),

ProX is now also driven by the GSA Control Panel.

This method frees up processing overhead (i.e. Optical sensor monitoring, camera image grabbing and processing within ProX)

so that ProX runs smoother and setup is common to all game software. i.e. there is now just one setup - via the control panel - instead of two.

As of this version, ProX therefore also requires that the GSA Control Panel is running before play can start.

29th. June 2011

GSA Control Panel 6.6.7

Improved path calculation method for overhead path detection cameras.

21st. June 2011

GSA Control Panel 6.6.4

This applies only to latest PX2 or FX users or any user with cameras.

Note: Download includes the FTchipID.dll file which must be copied to the folder with the GSAControlPanel.exe file.

Also includes the WhiteUSBSerialSetup program which should be run once if not using the latest products that already use this adapter.

2. BX software activated .

3. E6 software package pricing updated.

11th June 2011

GSA Control Panel 6.6.0

Improved club and ball tracking for PX series mats and camera systems.

New camera types incorporated.

Note: If downloading this version the new camera type DLLs - which are included in the download zip file - must also be copied to the GSA Control Panel folder with the GSAControlPanel.exe file.

New clock speed for FX pads to improve chipping and putting.

Note: There is a current recall on all FX pads due to an incorrect installed clock chip. If you have an FX pad contact us for details.

19th March 2011

GSA Control Panel 6.4.7

Camera error beep:

You now get an acoustic signal if any of the ball tracking cameras do not detect a valid shot due to an incorrect setup.

18th March 2011

GSA Control Panel 6.4.6

Multiple Instance detection:

This new function detects if the Control Panel is already running when the user attempts to re-start the program.

We've noticed that a number of customers that have reported problems had actually started multiple instances of the Control Panel.

A second instance of the control panel will cause initialization problems and the system will not function.

When Alt Tab-ing to the Windows desktop screen the running applications are hidden so the customer may launch another instance of the control panel inadvertantly.

Various other improvements

3rd March 2011

GSA Control Panel 6.4.4

ProX 6.7.6

For Camera users:

Fix 1. Tee height. When the vertical launch camera is setup to detect launch angles from a fixed launch position the tee height was not being taken into account.

Set tee height in the Sensor Settings window. The tee height will be used when ever a driver has been selected.

Fix 2: When a very low shot is made so that the ball starts below the maximum ball height for a rolling ball but the trace end is higher (ie a launch angle of 1 or 2 degrees) the shot was not being recognized. This has now been fixed.

ProX 6.7.6 only

Possible program crash during the after shot analysis detected and fixed.

17th Feb. 2011

GSA Control Panel 6.4.3

For camera users: Ball Left/Right speed adjustment percentage factor.

This user adjustable parameter (in the Camera Window) adjusts the measured ball speed if the ball path is left or right.

It is required because the floor mounted camera sees a longer ball trace when the ball flight is towards the camera and a shorter trace when the ball flight is moving away from the camera.

To correct this a percentage factor can be set that will decrease the measured ball speed when travelling towards the camera and increase the ball speed when moving away from the camera.

For example: if set to 10%, then ball speed will be increased or decreased by 10% when the ball path is at a maximum of 20 degrees left or right.

If the ball path is 10 degrees left or right then the speed will adjusted by +/- 5%, if 5 degrees then only +/- 2.5% and so on.

In order for this feature to function correctly the system must know if the camera is mounted on the left or right hand side of the enclosure.

There is therefore a new Cam Left/Right radio button in the camera setup window. Set Left if the camera is mounted left of the enclosure otherwise set off if mounted right.

6th Feb. 2011

GSA Control Panel 6.4.0

Trajectory ball curve control.

This feature will allow you to customize the amount of curve (draws, fades, slices and hooks) the ball will have.
